U10s - Match Report

Rovers Vs Holmes Chapel Blacks

(Andy Beech 19/11/2019)

Congleton Rovers JFC U10s  Vs  Holmes Chapel Blacks   (Score Withheld)

(Match Date: Saturday 16th November 2019)
Match Report week 10: In game 1 Rovers came flying out of the blocks playing during the early exchanges creating a number of good chances and if it wasn’t for the Holmes Chapel keeper and the woodwork could have scored early on. As it was they had to wait until middway through the first half to score. In a high scoring game George, Sam, Dan, Lewis, Aidan W and Louie all managed to get on the scoresheet, it was great to see so many different scorers. Special mention to Gabriel for some great wing play and for creating a number of great chances for his teammates and to Max for weathering the cold in goals. In game 2, Rovers defended well in the early stages to keep a strong Holmes Chapel team at bay. Rovers eventually scored a great goal, a curling finish into the top corner from Harley. Rovers started the second half strongly putting the Holmes Chapel team under pressure. Rhys was rewarded for his efforts and never give up attitude when he fired in Rovers’ second after his first effort was blocked. Special mention to Jacob today who put in a number of vital challenges to stop Holmes Chapel scoring and for the great assist for Harley’s goal. In game 3, Rovers started well and Luca could have scored a hat-rick within the first half, hitting the post with one of his efforts. The team played really well and were rewarded for their good play through a goal scored by Finn J. On the other wing Archie was having a great game and was eventually rewarded for his none stop running and encouragement of his teammates with two goals. Well done Rovers another great weekend of football ⚽️
